5 Days Uganda Family Safari & City adventure

A Quick Overview

Today, a family trip is more than just loading the kids into the car and driving to a local beach or resort; family trips have evolved to be more interesting, as well as providing opportunities for your children to enjoy travel and nature outside of sand beaches. This 5-day family safari will allow you and your children to encounter wild animals in their natural habitat while also enjoying city castles.

Itinerary for each day

Day 1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park by car.

Hopefully, your flight is expected to arrive in Uganda early in the morning. Your safari will begin at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met by your Driver/Guide, who will brief you on your tour before departing for Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is, unsurprisingly, Uganda’s most popular tourist destination. The park’s diverse habitats, which include sprawling savannah, shady, tropical forests, sparkling lakes, and rich wetlands, make it an ideal habitat for traditional big game, ten primate species, including chimps, and over 600 bird species.
You will pause for lunch en route before continuing on to the stunning Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most outstanding treasures. If time allows, you can go on an evening game drive after checking into your accommodation, or you can relax at your accommodation (in preparation for the next day’s activities).

Day 2: Game Observation & Launch Cruise

Queen Elizabeth National Park is a medley of wonders. Lions live in the fig trees of Ishasha plain, elephants walk lazily in the open grasslands, buffaloes stand steadily, and the playful antelopes, sitatungas, waterbucks, bushbucks, baboons, manganese, warthogs, and many other animals enjoy the park in their own unique way, all of which can only be seen during the game drive.
As a consequence, prepare to meet all of the above guests, as well as others, after breakfast.
After the game drive, have lunch before embarking on the Kazinga channel launch cruise with your guide. This 32-kilometer channel links Lake Edward and George, attracting a variety of birds, including migrant birds from neighboring countries, as well as a high concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Simply sit back, prepare your camera, and enjoy the rest of the trip. The remainder of the evening is free for dinner and sleeping at the cabin.

Enjoy breakfast before driving to Kampala, which will take approximately 7-9 hours on perfect roads. Request time from your guide to stretch and pause if you want to take in a beautiful natural feature or even do some photography. Take a warm lunch on the way to the city. We’ve returned from the peaceful wild places to a noisy, busy community. Spend the evening with dinner at your favorite hotel.

Day 4: Kampala City Exploration

Prepare to visit Kampala, Uganda’s capital city, today. Kampala is also a great place to visit with family, and children can enjoy exploring the area.
After breakfast, go to the National Museum to learn about Uganda’s ancient past, and then to the craft market to let the kids pick what they like best. The jumping castles, water slides, spinning boat, octopus, and other exciting games for kids at Wonderworld amusement park will have them giddy with delight. Freedom City Children’s Park and Twinz Children’s Center are two other options for children, or you can spend the whole day here.
