In these 7 days, you will explore the best of Uganda in just one week. You shall visit Lake Mburo National park for fascinating wildlife encounters, proceed to QUeen Elizabeth national park for further wildlife encounters, visit Bwindi for the impressive gorilla trek and have a relaxation in Lake Bunyonyi before returning to Kampala.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your lodge

We shall meet you at the airport, transfer to your hotel in Kampala for Overnight. You will receive a briefing from your guide to get ready for your trip the next day. Depending on your arrival time, we can take you to explore the 7 hills of Kampala, embark on a relaxing Kampala boda boda city tour and take you around to enjoy Uganda Rolex and take you to try Ugandan food.

Day 2: Kampala-Lake Mburo National Park

We shall drive through Kampala and on to L. Mburo National park. This is a unique park of all the others, the five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonolek. Upon arrival you embark on an afternoon boat ride and later proceed for a simple rest before embarking on an evening game drive. Return to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Queen ELizabeth National Park

We have the choice of game viewing on horseback, on foot or by jeep. Game Viewing – the major tourist activity in this Park, it is famous for its richness in biodiversity. It has about 68 different species of mammals. The common ones are Zebra, Impala, Buffalo, Topi, and Eland as herbivores not to leave out the rare species of Roan antelope and leopard, Hyenas and jackals as predators.

After the engaging game drive, return to your lodge to proceed to Queen ELizabeth National park for further wildlife viewing.

Day 4: Morning experiential tourism/game drive and afternoon chimp trekking

After a lavish cup of tea / coffee, to go for a game drive and catch up with the early risers, and predators trying to get back to their hideouts. Return for full breakfast and lunch at the Lodge, relax as we wait for lunch, later go for afternoonChimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge to meet man’s closest relative. The activity takes about 2-6 hours before you retire and return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha with possibility of seeing tree-climbing lions.

The day starts with breakfast, then embarks on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and Queen’s mile in the park. You will expect to see cape Buffaloes, Elephants Topi, Kobs, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Hyena, Leopards, as well as the lions and lots of Birds. After the game drive, embark on the trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha. Along the road via Ishasha you have chances of spotting tree climbing lions are found in this section in the whole of Uganda and Ishasha’s short trees offer rewarding close looks other than that of Lake Manyara in Tanzania where the tree climbing lions are also found on a world scale. Ishasha also supports Buffaloes, Elephants, Waterbucks and Kobs which can be viewed en route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening boat cruise and relaxation


This is a special day dedicated for the impressive mountain gorillas. Undertaking the gorilla trekking experience in the hilly forested landscapes of Bwindi is such a lifetime endeavor that will create lasting memories. You gather at the respective park headquarters for briefing in the morning at 8am where you are also allocated the respective gorilla families to track. The encounter takes 2 – 8 hours depending on the gorilla movements and one hour is available to you to have a direct touch with the gorillas. Upon approaching gorillas, their reaction is not predictable as it can include them giving you a courteous welcome, minding less about you and charging against you. Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi driving through fascinating Kigezi Highlands which locals apply terracing methods to cultivate their slopes deriving impressive scenic landscape. You arrive at Lake Bunyonyi in the afternoon after which you embark on a thrilling boat ride to explore the Lake of a thousand Islands. The views of the Islands, the surrounding Kigezi Highlands, the bird life on the lake and the sights of local people with their canoes as they connect to and from the Islands is very magical and impressive to explore before retiring for dinner and overnight. Retreat from the activity and transfer to the starting point to embark on the transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You drive through impressive Kigezi highlands while enjoying the sights of the Virunga Volcanoes arriving at your lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi back to Kampala

After your breakfast embark on the transfer to Kampala 437km about 7 hours’ drive via Mbarara and settle at Igongo Cultural Center for lunch (Traditional dishes) but also you will have an option to visit the cultural museum here and embark on your drive to Kampala. You can make an en route at the Equator for more photos and passing through the gift shops to secure yourself a memorabilia as commemoration of your gorilla and wildlife safari in Uganda.

    Best time to visit Uganda

    Uganda is open all-year-long, the best wildlife viewing months in Uganda are during the Dry season from late June to October.

    The most commonly asked Ugandan questions! The solution is straightforward! You are welcome to visit Uganda at any time of the year! It’s a hot and humid atmosphere here.

    The cost of a safari, which is normally higher during peak season, maybe the difference. We offer discounts in May and April, and if you are traveling in groups, we offer a $150 discount on a Uganda safari gorilla permit.

    June to October –Dry Season. Wildlife is easier to spot.

    November to May –Wet Season

    The scenery is beautiful and green Rates drop because it’s the low season.
